Jalandhar, August 12, 2020: The Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today reviewed the security situation in the city by visiting in various areas, temples late evening and interacted directly with the personnel deployed onsecurity duty in the temples on the occasion of Janam Ashtami today.
The Commissioner of Police, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner of Police Bimal Kant undertook the checking in various temples.
Reviewing the security arrangements,Bhullar reiterated the firm commitment of the Commissionerate Police to maintain law at every cost and said that sole aim of inspecting the arrangements was to make security system more responsive and efficient.
The Commissioner of Police assured the people that fool proof security cover had already been put in place in the city and no one would be allowed to take the law in its hands.
Seeking fulsome support and cooperation from the people in this trying situation of Covid-19 pandemic, he asked the people to obey the COVID-19 protocols while visiting the temples especially proper wearing of masks, social distancing etc.
As per the instructions of the Punjab Government, he said that not more than 20 people would be allowed to be assembled in the temple in one go and people must wear mask, obey social distancing and avoid touching face, eyes and nose.
Bhullar said that the Police was there round the clock to help and assist people adding that the Commissionerate Police would uphold the glorious tradition of the Punjab Police to perform their duty with utmost zeal and professional integrity.
