Bathinda, August 16, 2020: Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda celebrated 74th Independence Day with enthusiasm and Patriotic fervour at Campus.
Keeping in view the COVID 19, all precautions of social distancing and instructions issued by the district Administration were strictly followed.
Saluting the Nation and its freedom fighters, Chief Guest on the occasion, MRSPTU, Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Mohan Paul Singh Ishar unfurled the National Flag.
While addressing, Dr. Ishar recalled the sacrifices made by the martyrs and freedom fighter in getting the freedom from colonial rule.
While remembering the recent sacrifices of martyrs at Galwan Valley at Indo-China border, he said that with tensions at the borders continuing, the country should deal with the enemy with strong iron hand to give befitting reply.
When the country and World continues to fight the Covid-19 crisis, Dr. Ishar stressed that process of Nation Building is still on. He strongly appealed the people especially youth to arise to the challenges of the day amid COVID 19 crisis worldwide and dedicate themselves to the building of strong Nation and to speed up the country's economy to minimise the pandemic impact.
He also appealed to the gathering to adopt the attitude of humanity, brotherhood and national integrity.
Dr. Ishar also stressed upon the need to spread awareness about Covid-19 to make the state win the battle against the virus.
MRSPTU Registrar, Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu and Dean Research and Development, Dr. Jasbir Singh Hundal also conveyed their greetings on Independence Day and gave best wishes for a bright future of the students.
Due to ongoing COVID 19, only Deans, Directors and Heads of department of the University attended the function.
Er. Vivek Kondal, ANO of 2 Punjab R & V SQN, NCC of the Campus and Rajeev Varshney, 20 Punjab Battalion NCC played key role in the function.
Dean student welfare Dr. Paramjit Singh, Senior faculty, Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Dr. Rahul Deshmukh, Dr. Rakesh Singla, Dr. Devanand and Dr. Bhupinder Singh were also present on the occasion.
