Chandigarh, August 16, 2020: The 74th Independence Day was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm throughout Haryana. During the celebrations Ministers and officers of the State Government unfurled the National Flag at functions held at various places in the State and conveyed the message of patriotism to the people of the state.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala, hoists flag at Gurugram
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala, hoisted the flag at Gurugram on the occasion of 74th Independence Day and paid homage to the martyrs of the country. Mr. Dushyant Chautala presented Scootys on behalf of Hero MotoCorp to100 women achievers across the state at the Independence Day celebrations held in Gurugram. He also thanked Hero MotoCorp for boosting the morale of women by offering. 42 Corona warriors who did well in Gurugram district were also honoured at the ceremony. After the ceremony, the Deputy Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of 17 projects related to rural development in the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex itself. Apart from this, on the occasion of Independence Day, a blood donation camp was also organized in the community center of Sector 15 Part-1, Gurugram in memory of the martyrs of Galvan Valley of Ladakh.

Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Mr. Gian Chand Gupta while hoisting the flag in Ambala said that it is because of the sacrifices made by the martyrs and freedom fighters that we are able to breathe freely. We need to strengthen our resolve to protect society and nation, following the path of service and struggle as preached by the freedom fighters. The Speaker said that today we have gathered to realize the glorious and happy moments of 74th Independence Day of the country. India gained independence on this day in 1947 after a long struggle. Independence Day is a symbol of unity, honour and dedication of our country. Today the nation is expressing its gratitude to all the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for their motherland. The heroic sons of Mother India wrote this glorious tale of independence in 1947.
Education Minister, Mr. Kanwar Pal hoisted the flag in Faridabad
Haryana Education Minister, Mr. Kanwarpal said that the country got independence after a long struggle. Many heroes sacrificed their lives to achieve this. He said that this time the Independence Day celebrations are being celebrated amid COVID-19 Pandemic but under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, the country has put a tough fight against this Pandemic with patience and restraint. This is the reason that the death rate of COVID-19 infected people in India is very low compared to western countries and the recovery rate of the country is also increasing continuously. The present State Government has given transparent governance by adopting zero tolerance policy against corruption. New schemes have been launched for the welfare of farmers and labourers, upliftment of youth and for the empowerment of women. Using information technology, government is working towards e-governance and the year 2020 is being celebrated as 'Susashan Sankalp Varsh'.
Power Minister, Mr. Ranjit Singh hoisted the flag in Hisar
Power and Jails Minister, Mr. Ranjit Singh said that we can never forget the sacrifices made by our ancestors in liberating India from British Rule. On this Independence Day, we should pay heartfelt respects to our freedom fighters and martyrs as it is because of their sacrifices that we have got freedom. On this occasion, he hoisted the tricolour. He inspected the parade and received guard of honour. In his address, Power Minister said that despite independence, there was a separate legislation in Jammu and Kashmir, which always made the independence of the country incomplete, but Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Mr. Amit Shah abolished Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, proving the fact that Jammu and Kashmir was always as integral part of our country. The entire country wholeheartedly accepted this decision.
While sharing detailed information about the achievements of Haryana Government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, Minister said that during the tenure of the previous governments, the losses of electricity board in the State was Rs. 34,500 crore but due to the will of the government and public cooperation, the power corporation today is in a profit of 450 crore. The Power Minister said that at present, 2400 hours of electricity is being provided in 4600 villages of the state under 'Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon'. This year, all villages of the state have been included in this scheme and a target of 24-hour power supply has been set for the all the villages.

For the people of the state, we have taken several steps to upgrade sports, education, health, security, electricity and infrastructure, so that Haryana flourished as a prosperous a state.
Transport Minister, Mr. Mool Chand Sharma hoisted the flag in Palwal
Transport Minister, Mr. Mool Chand Sharma said that we are celebrating 74th Independence Day of our nation. On this occasion, I am feeling great pride and joy by hoisting the tricolour on the historic land of Palwal. He said that the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal is continuously working for the welfare of the people. Employment portal has been started with the aim of providing information of employment opportunities to the youth on one platform. Haryana Skill Development Mission has been created for their skill development. Shri Vishwakarma Skill University is being established in the village of, Dudhola in Palwal district. Five new state industrial training institutes and four new private industrial training institutes have been started from the session 2019-20 and construction of 22 new industrial training institutes are in progress.
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Mr. JP Dalal hoists flag in Narnaul
On the occasion of 74th Independence Day, Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. JP Dalal after hoisting the national flag and inspecting the parade in Narnaul paid his tributes to all the known and unknown martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the nation and said that today is also the day to salute the brave people who have protected the unity and integrity and boundaries of the country after independence. Haryana has played an important role in the freedom struggle of the nation. He said that farmers of the state will be given subsidy of 85 to 100 percent under mini sprinkler, sprinkler, and drip irrigation scheme. He said that on the lines of the Kisan Credit Card, the Pashu Kisan Credit Card Scheme has been started for the cattle rearers as well.
Co-operation Minister, Mr. Banwari Lal hoists flag in Kurukshetra

The death rate due to COVID-19 in India is very low compared to the western countries and the recovery rate is also increasing continuously. In Haryana, the recovery rate is more than 83 percent. Numerous doctors, nurses, para-medical staff, police staff, sanitation workers, anganwadi workers etc. have done great service to humanity as Corona Warriors.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Mr. OP Yadav hoists flag in Rewari

Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Mrs. Kamlesh Dhanda hoists the flag in Jind
Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Mrs. Kamlesh Dhanda hoisted the national flag on the occasion of 74th Independence Day in Jind.
She said that separate wards or blocks have been set up in 11 government and aided medical colleges in the state for COVID-19 patients only. He said that "Mahila Evam Kishori Samman Yojana" and "Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphar Yojana" were recently launched. Under the Mahila Evam Kishori Samman Yojana, about 22.50 lakh women and adolescent girls will be given a packet of free sanitary napkins every month for a year, which will include six napkins. Apart from this, the Education Department has also prepared a scheme under which six sanitary napkins will be made available to 6.50 lakh girl students every month. Fortified skimmed milk powder will be given to children between 1 to 6 years of age and pregnant and lactating mothers under the Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphar Yojana.
