Chandigarh, August 16, 2020: Haryana Power Minister, Ranjit Singh said that the state government has stepped up the work of providing tubewell connections to all the farmers who have completed the formalities. In the last three months, 4,800 farmers have been given submersible pumps and 1,471 farmers have been given monoblock pumps. Also, in the next three months, 4,200 farmers will be given connections with three-star motors. It is for the first time that a government has been able to issue so many tubewell connections in a span of six to seven months.
This information was given by the Power Minister while addressing the people of various villages of Hisar. The Power Minister heard the problems of the villagers during the program organized in the villages of Javra, Bichhapadi, Khedar and Kumbakheda and gave necessary guidelines to the officers on the spot. He said that it is the priority of the government to redress the problems of the common people and these will be resolved on a priority basis.
Power Minister Ranjit Singh said that the current government has made significant power reforms due to which 4,600 villages of the state are being provided 24-hour power supply under the 'Mahara Gaon-Jagmag Gaon' scheme. Remaining villages will also be included in this scheme soon. He called upon the villagers to help the government and the power utilities in reducing the line loss and to pay their electricity bills regularly. He added that the government can provide better services with public support.
Sharing the details he specified that with the support of the public, the power line loss has come down from 30.2 percent to about 17.4 percent. Besides, the power utilities have been able to surface from a loss of Rs. 34,500 crore to a profit of Rs. 450 crore. Presently, the people of the state are being provided inexpensive and better power supply, he added.
