Need to strengthen public awareness for precautions over Covid-19: DC
Ferozepur, August 18, 2020: Taking cognizance of the spike in Corona positive cases in Ferozepur district, recently 166 on a single-day, the Deputy Commissioner, Gurpal Singh Chahal had a special meeting with the officers of the health department, to take stock of the situation of the facilities available for the Corona patients’ treatment, testing, availability of Isolation wards and various other health conveniences available in the district.
SDM Ferozepur Amit Gupta, SDM Zira Ranjit Singh Bhullar, Nodal Officer Covid-19 Kanwardeep Singh, and Civil Surgeon, Dr. Jugal Kishore were present.
After having detailed discussions over sampling arrangements for Covid-19, District Epidemiologist, Dr.Minakshi Dhingra said, Sampling Teams have been constituted by the health department of Medical officer, two Lab Technicians, two community health officers – who take care of all the sampling work. She said, there is a need to create awareness among the masses about taking the precautions for Corona pandemic besides taking care of the prompt payment of bills of health department to avoid any inconvenience to the Corona patients in providing the timely treatment.
Deputy Commissioner said the entire staff of the health department is playing a front role to win over the Covid-19 pandemic and it could only be possible if all the teams work in coordination with each other for which the district administration and police department are also making all-out efforts.
He said we can stop the spread of Coronavirus by associating with each other and there is a need to strengthen the public awareness and we can save ourselves from this virus, if we adopt the precautions and guidelines of the health department, in our day to day life.
