While answering the query of media persons on the issue of SYL, Sardar Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, categorically stated that Punjab had no surplus water to share with any other state.
Citing the firm stand of the CM, Capt. Amaninder Singh, taken during his previous tenure, the Minister said that the CM had abrogated all the treaties then to safeguard the river water. Hence, no accusing finger could be raised towards the CM on the issue of safeguarding river water of Punjab even now, further said Dharamsot while condemning the SAD for rmisleading propaganda on the issue.
The SAD-BJP government had failed miserably to plead the issue of SYL properly, hence, they had no moral right to question Captain government on SYL.
In response to another question, Mr. Dharamsot said that out of the illegal occupation of some 31,000 acres of land of the Forest Department, the Forest Department has so far relinquished the illegal possession of its 15,000 acres of land. The ongoing cases in this regard are being followed up regularly.
