Patiala, August 22, 2020: The Punjab Government has so far provided assistance of Rs. 15.73 crore to 1311 beneficiaries for construction of Pucca houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Grameen) in Patiala district. Disclosing this today, Mrs. Preneet Kaur, Member Lok Sabha from Patiala said that Captain Amarinder Singh government was committed to benefit each and every eligible person of welfare schemes.
The Lok Sabha member said that Rs 62.40 lakh would be spent during the current financial year to extend the benefits of PMAY-G scheme to 52 more beneficiaries. Mrs. Preneet Kaur said that the main objective of this scheme was to provide the basic amenities of life to the residents of rural areas living in dilapidated and poor conditions by 2022.
Mrs. Preneet Kaur further said that District Administration Patiala has identified the beneficiaries who fulfill the criteria of having Kachcha House and provided Rs. 1 lakh 20 thousand in three installments for the construction of the Pucca house. Apart from this, an additional Rs. 12000 is provided for construction of toilets also.
The Lok Sabha member said that in this way a beneficiary gets an amount of Rs. 1 lakh 53 thousand 600 for building his)her Pucca house.
Mr. Kumar Amit, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala said that the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Dr. Preeti Yadav is overseeing the scheme. He said that the district administration was working hard to extend the benefits of government schemes in the district to all the beneficiaries as per the directions of the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh and Lok Sabha Member Mrs. Preneet Kaur.
