Farmers’ protest on 12th day demand Natural and Farmer-Friendly Development Model, hold Candle March
Ferozepur, October 5, 2020: On the 12th protest by Punjab farmers sitting on rail roko sit-in dharna on railway tracks at Ferozepur against the passing the anti-farmers three Agri. Bills, today demanded to implement natural and farmer-friendly development model, by lighting the candles on the railway tracks, in the late evening.
The farmers are sitting on rail roko dharna since September 23 at Amritsar and Ferozepur and railways had already withdrawn the 14 special passengers trains to avoid inconvenience to the passengers and loss of national property.
Speaking to media persons, Satnam Singh Pannu, State Presiden, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, Inderjit Singh Bath, District President and others said today on our 12th days’ protest, thousands of farmers organized lightening of candles on the railway tracks to remove the darkness from the country by the present and previous governments.
Criticizing the protests by the political parties in the state, Pannu said, the target of political parties is only the coming elections in 2022.
Demanding the Natural and Farmer-Friendly Development Model instead of the Corporate Agri Model, the farmer leaders invited the people of Punjab to join to intensify the agitation to fight for the cancellation of three Farm Bills besides various other demands to uplift this class in real sense.
Pannu said, our protest would continue till the Bills are not withdrawn and will sit for dialogue only on a call from PM’s office only.
