Chandigarh, October 30, 2020: Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated on October 31, 1984 at her Safdarjung Road residence in New Delhi by her Sikh bodyguards for her role in ordering Operation Blue Star, the storming of Golden Temple complex by the Indian Army to evict Sikh militants, led by Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, who were hiding there.
But behind her assassination lies a mystery, an untold story of how the assassination was planned and executed and the role played by different people in the assassination.
Senior Journalist Jagtar Singh throws light on all these aspects in his book “Rivers on Fire” and here in an exclusive video interview with Babushahi Editor-in-Chief Baljit Balli.
