CPCB orders closure of hot mix plants and stone crushers in Delhi-NCR
Delhi, November 11, 2020: Considering a likely increase in pollution levels during the festive season. the Central Pollution Control Board – CPCB- directed a closure of hot mix plants and stone crushers in Delhi-NCR till November 17,
The CPCB has also asked the adjoining states – Punjab and Haryana, to take immediate stringent actions to curb stubble burning and to check biomass burning strictly in Delhi-NCR. Apart from this, it has also desired for taking strict action on violation with penalty and a temporary stoppage of construction work.
The commission had also decided that in view of the deteriorating air quality in the NCR, there is a need to invoke the Graded Response Action Plan - GRAP, which has already been notified by the central government and came into force on October 15.
