Punjab’s Sports personalities leave for Delhi to return their prestigious awards

Fatehgarh Sahib. December 5, 2020: Sportspersons decorated with Padam Shri, Arjun Award, and Dronacharya award led by Padma Shri and Arjuna awardee wrestler Kartar Singh, Arjuna awardee basketball player Sajjan Singh Cheema and Arjuna awardee hockey player Rajbir Kaur. Olympian Ajit Singh paid obeisance at historical Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib here today on their way to Delhi to return their awards to the President of India in protest against the three draconian farms laws and to support the striking farmers by joining their stir at Delhi.
Didar Singh Bhatti Halka in charge of Fatehgarh Sahib for SAD(B) along with his supporters welcomed them at Gurudwara Sahib.
While talking to the media persons wrestler Kartar Singh and hockey player Olympian Ajit Singh and Rajbir Kaur said that more than 18 leading sportspersons from the State are going to Delhi tomorrow to return their awards to the President of India as the Modi government has enacted anti farmers laws and the entire farmers of the country are on roads to get these laws repeal.
They said that they have extended their support to the agitating farmers and will return their awards in protest against the "force" used against the peasants en route to Delhi and for not repealing the draconian farm laws. They announced that they will also join the stir.
