Protesting farmers give call for ‘Tractor Parade’ in Delhi on Jan 26 if demands not met
Ferozepur, January 2, 2021: The protesting farmers have given a call for Tractor Parade’ towards Delhi on January 26 to register their protest against three controversial farm laws, in case their demands are not in the meeting between farmers and government on January 4.
It looks that the present farmers strike is the largest in recent years against the contentious 3-Farm Laws approved by Parliament in September last year.
Giving this information, Sarwan Singh Pandher, General Secretary, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee said, in a joint meeting of farmers outfits on New Year’s day, unanimously decided to hold ‘Tractor Parade’ on January 26 at Delhi and made an appeal to all to make all preparation for this campaign.
He, however, made it clear that in case there is no outcome if their demands for a repel of three farm laws and a law guaranteeing minimum prices for crops are not met, in the meeting of farmers with the government then tractor march will be held on KMB Highway which will be a rehearsal for January 26. Meanwhile, under the awareness campaign, the rallies and dharnas will be held from 7 to 20 January 20.
Pandher said the peaceful protests of farmers are going on Delhi borders. We will wait for the outcome of the January 4 meeting with the government and the Supreme Court’s hearing on January 5 on certain petitions related to these three farm laws. Adding he said, no doubt, 50 percent of demands of the farmers have been met but there is so far no indication for the two remaining major demands.
