Tikri Border (Delhi), Janaury 12, 2021 - The Khalsa Mission Charitable Society of Bathinda has set up a general hospital in a tent near Tikri Border here to provide emergency services to the protesting farmers. The hospital, called Kissan Hospital, is having a capacity of 10 beds and it has a lab for conducting the tests. The hospital is equipped by medicines, technical machines, ventilator, oxygen support as well as two ambulances. The hospital started working on Tuesday and a number of farmers visited it.
Divulging the details about the Kissan Hospital, Dr Harvinder Singh, a physician of Bathinda, said, "The idea of starting a hospital came to our mind following 60 plus deaths of farmers in the agitation. Also, there are several medical camps already set-up near Tikri Border but we started this to provide emergency services to the farmers. As the weather becomes so cold now, there are chances of cardiac arrest and other illness. Our aim is to treat the patients with best facilities."
Dr Harvinder also said that a they are having a team of 15 nursing staff and other volunteers, who will provide the services to the patients reaching at the hospital. Along with this, two ambulances have been allocated to this hospital. "One ambulance is to shift the critical patient to a big hospital or his city. The second one will be used for local purpose. In addition to this, we are having a car, which contains medicines and it will deliver to the trolley homes of the farmers. All the services will be free of cost," said Dr Harvinder Singh.
He added, "In the coming days, more doctors will join us. Dr Achint Singh from Jammu will join us soon. We have a ventilator as well as oxygen support for the critical patients."
