Drug smuggler nabbed with heroin and mobile with 10 Pak numbers
Ferozepur, January 15, 2021: The Ferozepur police claimed to have put its hand on drug smuggler initially with the recovery of 100 gm and later on, 4 kg with one mobile with 10 Pakistani number saved, from the designated spot revealed during the investigation.
It is added that taking the advantage of dense fog by the Indian and Pakistani smugglers are evident from the fact that during the last fortnight, Police and BSF has successfully thwarted an attempt of smuggling five times.
Divulging with details, Balbir Singh, SP(D) informed that the arrested drug smuggler – identified as Malkit Singh alias Kala of village Tendiwala - on arrest was interrogated and on revealing his links with the counterparts in Pakistan, a search operation was carried at the spotted spot, in association with the BSF near BOP Panchriya across the Zero Line and 4 kg heroin and one Samsung brand mobile phone was recovered, lying in standing wheat crop. Malkit Singh was also wanted by the Fazilka police in some cases. He informed that around ten Pakistani numbers have been found in the mobile and the accused was in contact with them on WhatsApp call to get the consignment of heroin.
He informed that the recovered consignment was also arranged by him. While one has been arrested, his two accomplices are absconding and police are on the hunt to nab them.
