DC directs departments to strive for 100% enrolment in AB-Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna
FIXES DAILY TARGET OF 5000 ENROLMENTS, APPOINTS NODAL OFFICERS FOR EACH DEPARTMENT
ASKS OFFICIALS TO PULL UP THEIR SOCKS FOR MAKING JALANDHAR LEADING DISTRICT IN PUNJAB WITH MAXIMUM ENROLMENTS

Jalandhar, January 19,2021: - Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Tuesday directed the various departments to ensure cent percent enrolment in Ayushman Bharat-Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna, to make Jalandhar a leading district in the state with a maximum number of beneficiaries in the program.
To speed up the enrolment of all 262609 families in Jalandhar, The Deputy Commissioner appointed nodal officers in the departments and fixed a daily target of 5000 enrolments under the scheme.
Presiding over a district-level training program of various departments, the Deputy Commissioner asked officials from various departments from health, food, civil and supply, Mandi Board, Labour, excise, and representatives of Common Service Centres to pull up their socks to disseminate maximum information regarding benefits of this ambitious scheme of Punjab Government so that all the beneficiaries can enrol themselves in the scheme.
Ghanshyam Thori stressed the need that officials must ensure the information about the enrolment camps reaches to grassroots level either through pamphlets, posters, other material, or public announcements.He said that he would personally monitor the progress of the nodal officers and would even constitute teams to conduct surprise checking of the camps in the field.
The deputy commissioner further directed the officials of service provider company Vidal Health Insurance to increase the number of enrolment camps. He said that top performers in the scheme would be honoured regularly.
Deputy Commissioner also urged the people to carry their Aadhar Cards while visiting type-1 Seva Kendra or other government healthcare establishments including CHCs, Sub Divisional Hospitals, and the district hospital so that the benefit of on-spot enrolment and e-card generation could be given to them.
Thori clearly stated that the company was charging nominal fees worth Rs. 30 to enrol and generate e-cards while CHCs, district hospitals, and sub-divisional hospitals providing these services free of cost.
Terming AB-Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna a game-changer scheme, the deputy commissioner said that people could avail the benefit of cashless treatment up to Rs. 5 Lakh at government and hospitals.
Divulging more, he said all 13 government health institutions and 56 private hospitals have been impanelled in the district adding the list of these hospitals that could be viewed at www.sha.punjab.gov.in
The scheme offers 1579 packages to the beneficiaries including 180 packages were reserved for public hospitals of which 25 packages were referable to private hospitals.
The deputy commissioner said that people holding NFSA ration cards, construction workers, SECC beneficiaries, small traders, journalists, and J-farm holder farmers are eligible under the scheme adding the beneficiaries could check their eligibility at sha.punjab.gov.in.
