Police busts loot syndicate, 6 arrested with 100 mobiles
Ferozepur, January 25, 2021: The Ferozepur police claimed to have busted a looting gang with the arrest of six members with the heavy recovery of stolen material.
In view of Republic Day celebrations, the entire police force is up in arms to keep an eye on the anti-national elements. It was also a cause of worrisome when there had also been snatching instances of mobiles during the last few days in the city.
Divulging with more details, SSP Bhupinder Singh said, the police was looking for this gang wanted in various thefts. Under a special campaign against the unscrupulous persons, a special team of senior officers was formed and it got success, in nabbing six members of the gang – identified as Gurpreet Singh of Basti Bela, Hira Singh of Mahalam, Sajan of Fish Market, Subhash of Awa Basti, Ravi of Ali Ke and Goldy of Banewal Vehra - from Tikoni Kaccha Zira road and grain market near Sandhe Hasam village, while four members – identified as Omkar Singh Ravi, Ajay and Rama - fled away by dodging. Two accused have been sent to jail and an investigation from the four arrested is going on to bring on surface more related facts.
During the investigation of the arrested accused, the recovery of 100 stolen mobiles, 48 batteries, 10 boxes of liquor, one LCD, one inverter, one canter, and one Sakoda car was made at the designated spots given by them.
SSP said, the investigations are on and the hunt is on for the remaining accused who too will be in the police net, involved in various cases at different police stations. Further investigation is likely to blow the lid of the nexus of the accused with others in this profession, with the help of Cyber Cell.
