Mohali: 3 thieves held with seven stolen two-wheelers

Mohali, January 27, 2021: Mohali police nabbed three thieves of a gang and recovered 7 stolen two-wheelers from their possession. The arrested persons have been identified as Baljinder Singh, a resident of Ferozepur, Jagsir Singh alias Kaala, a resident of Mansa and Jagdish Singh, a resident of Gandhinagar in Gujarat and currently putting up in Sector 52, Chandigarh.
A case has been registered under Sections 379 and 41 of the IPC against them at the Phase 8 police station. Baljinder and Jagsir were held on Janaury 22 and they have been sent to judicial custody while Jagdish, who was nabbed by the cops on Tuesday, was sent to three-day police custody by the court.
Inspector Rajesh Arora, Station House Officer of Phase 8 police station said, "The trio has been arrested and a recovery of seven two-wheelers including four scooters, has been done. The gang was active in the various regions of Punjab. Now, efforts are being made by our teams to nab their two accomplices, Beant Singh alias Happy and Pawanpreet Sangha, who are at large."
According to the police, Baljinder and Jagsir, were nabbed at a blockade laid near Burail village T-point, when the duo was riding on Hero Honda bike towards Chandigarh. During their checking, it was found that they were riding on a bike, which they had stolen from Kumbra village and were all set to sell it in Burail village of Chandigarh.
During the interrogation of the suspects, they revealed the names of few persons of another gang led by Happy. They disclosed that along with the gang of Happy, they used to steal two-wheelers and park them near old bus stand of Mohali in Phase 8. After that Happy used to sell them in various regions of Punjab. Following their interrogation, the police arrested Jagdish yesterday at a blockade when he was walking with stolen Activa scooter, said the police.
