Raghav Chadha writes open letter to Punjab CM on farmers' security, asks Jakhar to avoid lying in public
Chandigarh, January 31, 2021: In an open letter to Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, AAP’s national spokesperson and Punjab unit co-in-charge Raghav Chadha have demanded from the Punjab government to provide police security to the agitating farmers at Delhi borders.
“While we understand that until now you have turned a blind eye to the plight of farmers, it is a matter of great shock and surprise that we have to bring it to your attention that they are under threat of physical violence and attack of goons of BJP,” he wrote in the letter.
He further asked Punjab CM to advise his leader ( including) PPCC chief Sunil Jakhar to stop lying in public and embarrassing the Congress party.
'For some absurd reason, a leader from your party has taken a stand that Punjab police cannot provide police protection outside the state. If Punjab Police cavalcade can go to Delhi along with Netas, officers of the State or even random protectees of the state of Punjab then why can't they deploy to protect farmers,” he asked the Punjab government.
On Saturday evening, the AAP leader has reiterated the demand during a press conference to which Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief, Sunil Jakhar said that even the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cannot enter a state without permission.
