Zirakpur police nabbed manufacturer of spurious ammunition parts

Zirakpur police have arrested a man who was manufacturing and selling counterfeit ammunition parts to bad elements. The police also recovered 805 magazines, 45 plastic magazine covers, and a Hyundai Accent car from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Narinder Singh, resident of Sector 38 in Chandigarh.
Inspector Onkar Singh, Station House Officer of Zirakpur police station, informed that the accused had been involved in making fake parts of weapons in his gun house in Industrial Area Phase 9, Mohali. “The accused was running a gun house in Mohali and also had the license for the same. In the repair segment of his shop, he also started manufacturing fake ammunition parts, especially magazines. Today, he was nabbed at a blockade near Kohinoor Dhaba in Zirakpur when he was going to supply the ammunition parts to his buyers in his Accent. On checking, we recovered the magazine cases and their covers from his car and arrested him immediately,” said Inspector Onkar Singh. He said a large amount of spurious ammunition parts were later recovered from the flat of the accused's accomplice in Zirakpur.
DSP Amroj Singh said, “We are verifying all the associates of the accused, who were involved in the manufacturing process. The matter is under investigation. The accused was sent to one-day police remand by a local court on Wednesday. A case has been registered against him under Sections 25 and 29 of the Arms Act at the Zirakpur police station.”
