Policy, intention & leadership play important role in building New India: Sanjay Dhotre
Union Minister of State for Education, Sanjay Dhotre, attended online the Seventh Convocation Ceremony of Central University of Haryana as Chief Guest

Mahendragarh (Haryana) February 27, 2021: The seventh Convocation Ceremony of Central University of Haryana, Mahendragarh was held on Saturday, 27 February 2021.
On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Education Sanjay Dhotre was present online as the chief guest, while the Member of Parliament from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Loksabha constituency Dharambir Singh joined in as Guest of Honour.
The convocation of the University began with the University’s Kulgeet at the Moolchand Auditorium. On this occasion, the Chief Guest Sanjay Dhotre said that today’s India is the India of expectations and policy, intention, and leadership play an important role in building a new India. Centrally under the guidance of Narendra Modi, India is moving forward on the path of progress and the entire world respects India and looks towards it with expectations.
On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. R.C. Kuhad presented the Progress Report before the Chief Guest who connected online and also released the souvenir and Newsletter of the University.
While addressing the students, teachers and non-teaching staff, the Minister gave his best wishes to all the degree holders and gold medalists and said that this day is very special for all of you. All of you have worked very hard for this day. At the same time, your parents have also sacrificed a lot to see you at infinite heights in life. Today is a glorious day for the students as well as their families and teachers.
Shri Dhotre said that India is progressing very fast under the visionary leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that in order to make our country the 21st century global knowledge superpower, New Education Policy 2020 has been enforced under the guidance of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Ministry of education Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
The multidisciplinary approach of the New Education Policy provides ample of opportunities for the comprehensive growth of the students. He appreciated the role of universities and students in nation building and said that time have come that we should participate in this development journey. He said that our credo for India is “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas aur Sabka Vishwaas”.
While referring to the Haryana State, Shri Dhotre said that it is a holy land which is known all over India for its agricultural development. It is unforgettable that this land has sacrificed its youth in service of the Nation. While referring to the women strength of the state he recalled the contribution of Kalpana Chawala, Rani Rampal, Sakshi Malik and Phogat Sisters. He said that every particle of Haryana is full of patriotism and love for the country runs in every vein.
Dhotre called upon the students to dream big and not remain satisfied with small goals. He also appealed to the students to lead a purposeful life. On this occasion, Sanjay Dhotre, praised the leadership of the Vice Chancellor responsible for the progress of the University.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. R.C. Kuhad in his address presented the progress report of the university and thanked the Chief Guest and the distinguished guests for their presence. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor congratulated the students who received the degrees as well as gold medals and wished their bright future.
At the same time, the Vice Chancellor also appreciated their parents and teachers, who helped in realizing the aspirations of the students. While presenting the details of the achievements of the University on this occasion, the Vice Chancellor, stated that despite the challenges and obstacles faced by us this year, we did not let it weaken our aim and vision to promote quality education and research.
There is no doubt that this has been made possible by the constant guidance and inspiration of the Honorable Union Minister of Education and Honorable Minister of State, who as true warriors made tireless efforts to inspire the students, teachers and administrators of educational institutions across the country.
He said that the convocation ceremony is being celebrated success as a result of all the hard work you have done in the field of education and research in the last few years. Granting of degrees makes the students realize their responsibilities towards society and the nation. This title is not an 'end', but a 'means' through which you are now ready for the challenges of life. Therefore, we expect our holders to set exemplary standards by making the best use of their knowledge and skills in their professional lives. Dear students! This title is not only the result of your hard work, but it is also the result of the constant guidance and support of your parents and teachers.
Highlighting the research achievements of the university, Prof. Kuhad said that currently, 20 funded research projects are being carried out by faculty members, with three new projects and 25.70 lakhs being released as additional grants in the last one year. In addition, 03 new patents were filed and 04 patents were published during the last one year. Faculty members of the university published 195 research papers in prestigious national and international journals and 83 books or book chapters.
In this series, Microbiology and Food Safety has successfully completed the third phase with record enrollment of 3617 learners from more than 50 reputed universities, institutes and food industries. UGC and CEC have introduced the translation and subtitling of MOOCS in 10 different Indian languages, and after successful translation it will be presented on the 'SWAYAM' platform.
The University is conscious of its commitment to the community. The university has made the public aware on issues related to gender equality, health, hygiene, environmental awareness, digital literacy and mental health. To create awareness about the corona virus, its spread and how to be safe from it, many programs, competitions, radio talks were organized and also efforts were made telephonically. We have also distributed masks and sanitizers to nearby villages through our community-based student-centered activities. He further added that an Online Learning Management System has been started by the University where e-content is available for more than 260 curriculums from 34 subjects.
Besides, members of the Executive Council, Academic Council and Members of the court of the University, dignitaries from different Educational institutions, Deans of different Schools, Registrar Dr. J P Bhukar, Controller of Examinations Dr. Vipul Yadav, Finance Officer Shri Manoranjan Tripathi and Heads of the various Departments, teachers, students and researchers were present at the Convocation Ceremony both in offline and online mode.
Degrees conferred to 757 students including 22 Gold Medals
At the Seventh Convocation Ceremony of CUH, Ph.D, M.Phil, Graduate and Post-graduate degrees were given to a total of 757 students and researchers. Among these, under the Graduate Curriculums 107 in B.tech, 55 students in B.Voc while in Post-Graduate curriculums 573 students were conferred degrees. Ph.D degree to 14 researchers and M.Phil degree were given to 08 researchers. Among the 757 students and researchers, 441 boys and 316 girls are included. Besides, 562 students passed out in first division.
