SGPC inaugurates Gurbani Patth Bodh Samagam at Gurdwara Nanakmata Sahib, Uttarakhand
Events are being held across country dedicated to 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur
Amritsar, March 1, 2021: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has started a series of Gurbani Patth Bodh (Gurbani Recitation Knowledge) programmes under various events dedicated to the 400th birth anniversary of ninth master, Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.
Accordingly, a programme has been started at Gurdwara Nanakmata Sahib in Uttarakhand on Monday.
About a hundred people will receive Gurbani lessons in this programme organized by the Dharam Prachar Committee of the SGPC as an initiative of Uttar Pradesh Sikh Mission in Hapur and Uttarakhand Sikh Mission in Kanshipur.
The main event will be held on April 5 at the conclusion of this programme, which will be attended by prominent Sikh personalities including SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur.
Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhayasi member of Dharam Prachar Committee, Bhai Jagdev Singh head preacher, Bhai Brijpal Singh in-charge of Sikh Mission at Hapur and Bhai Harjinder Singh in-charge of Sikh Mission at Kanshipur were especially present during the Gurbani recitation knowledge programme that started today.
On this occasion Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhayasi shared his views and said that the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is being celebrated by the SGPC in association with the Sikh sangat (congregation).
He said various events have been organized under the leadership of SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur, among which the special are Gurbani recitation knowledge events.
“The lessons on Gurbani are of great importance for understanding the fineness of pure recitation and that is why these events are being held at various places”, said Bhai Ajaib Singh.
Notably, SGPC has earlier successfully conducted a similar programme at Gurdwara Sri Dukhniwaran Sahib, Patiala and another is continuing at Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Nauvin (IXth) at Sri Baba Bakala Sahib.
During the inaugural ceremony of this programme at Gurdwara Nanakmata Sahib, the narrators (kathwachak) of religious discourse including Bhai Harmitar Singh, Bhai Shamsher Singh, Bhai Sukhwinder Singh, Bhai Jagwinder Singh, Bhai Jaswant Singh, Bhai Manjit Singh, Bhai Gursharan Singh, Bhai Harbir Singh, Bhai Resham Singh, Bhai Gurnam Singh Parwana, S. Ranjit Singh, S. Sewa Singh and others were present.
