Chandigarh, March 8, 2021: Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal on Monday present the budget 2020-2021 at Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
Here are the key highlights of this year’s budget:
1. We are presenting zero deficit budget : Manpreet Badal
2. Ashirwad scheme and old age pension increased, free travel for women
3. Pay Commission recommendations for employees to be implemented from July 1, 2021
4. 1186 crore for karza maufi scheme: FM
5. Mohali medical college named after Dr. Ambedkar
6. More than 50% Govt schools in Punjab have been made smart: FM
7. 250 Govt schools to be upgraded this year: FM
8. Rs 5 crore for setting up Center on Guru Granth Sahib at GNDU: FM
9. FM proposes special grant of Rs 90 crore for Punjabi University, Patiala
10. Freedom fighters & their legal heirs exempted toll tax on state highways
11. All street lights will be replaced by LEDs by year end: FM
12. Punjab Govt allocates Rs 100 crore for Guru Teg Bahadur’s birth anniversary celebrations
