Vaccination drive: Mohali Civil surgeon urges senior citizens to come forward and get vaccinated
Mohali, March 11, 2021:
Civil Surgeon Dr. Adarshpal Kaur appealed to the senior citizens of the district to come forward for Covid vaccination without any fear. The Civil Surgeon said in a press statement, "Elders aged 60 years and above should come forward with full enthusiasm and get vaccinated against Coronavirus”. She said that on the spot registration facility is available in the health facilities and they need to carry Aadhar card or any photo ID along with.
She said that vaccination drive is going on in seven government health institutes and 27 private health institutes in the district. Besides senior citizens, persons between the ages of 45 to 60 years who have any disease, health care workers and front line workers are being vaccinated. Meanwhile, the office bearers of Mohali Senior Citizens Association JS Thakur, Principal S. Chaudhary, Sukhwinder Singh Bedi and others got themselves vaccinated at the district hospital. Thakur said that all the office bearers of the Association will get the Covid vaccination in the coming days.
Civil Surgeon and Assistant Civil Surgeon Renu Singh visited the Sub-Divisional Hospital Kharar to review the Covid vaccination arrangements. SMO Dr Manohar Singh apprised them of the arrangements and said that the immunization work in the hospital is going on very smoothly. Elderly people are getting vaccinated in greater numbers. He also said that all the specialist doctors are rendering their services in the hospital.
Dr Adarshpal Kaur said that even though the vaccine is being given, caution is still needed. She said people should cover their faces with masks while moving out, and keep the necessary distance from each other. It is also important to wash hands frequently with soap and water.
