Various leaders including Supreme Court lawyer joins AAP
Chandigarh, April 10, 2021:
Several influential leaders from various districts of Punjab joined the Aam Aadmi party, including a senior women lawyer of the Supreme Court, at the party headquarters here on Saturday. Senior leader of the AAP and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema and AAP’s youth wing co-president Anmol Gagan Mann, inducted these leaders into the party. Deepshikha Arora, eminent women advocate and Gurpreet Singh Chabba, former Congress general secretary of the SC Wing and ex-district president of the SC Wing of Akali Dal, joined the AAP.
Deepshikha Arora has practiced in the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court. She joined the Aam Aadmi Party along with many of her female colleagues. Apart from these, Satnam Singh, former district vice president of Congress from Gurdaspur, Anil Kumar (Neela), Dilbagh Singh Gill, Ranjodh Singh, Manoharjit Singh, Avtar Singh from Ajnala in Amritsar district and Sarwan Singh from Abohar in Fazilka district, also joined the AAP. Welcoming the leaders who joined the party, Harpal Singh Cheema said that influenced by the pro-people policies of the Aam Aadmi Party and the works of Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal government, people are joining the party in large numbers.
He said that the Kejriwal government has made Delhi's government schools world-class and introduced a new model of development by improving the condition of government hospitals. "Today the people of Delhi are teaching their child in the government schools after getting their names dropped from private schools and the people are getting good treatment in government hospitals free of cost. The result of that are today people across the country like the AAP and Arvind Kejriwal," said Cheema.
Cheema said that the people were leaving the Congress due to the anti-people policies of the Captain government. Meanwhile, party's youth wing co-president Anmol Gagan Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party has always raised its voice for the freedom and independence of women. “That is why the women of Punjab are coming out of their homes to join the Aam Aadmi Party,” she added.
