SGPC member condemns harassment of baptized Sikhs at Army Recruitment Rally
Ferozepur, April 11, 2021: Shiromni Gurudwara Parbhandak Committee member has condemned the harassment of baptized Sikhs on removal of articles of faith of Sikh candidates at Army Recruitment Rally and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur in the name of President of India and others by Jathedar Darshan Singh Sherkhan, SGPC Member, for action by bringing it to the notice of the government.
Army Recruitment Rally is being held for eligible candidates of districts Bathinda, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Ferozepur and Fazilka from 1 to 20 April at Capt Sunder Singh Stadium, Ferozepur Cantt.
The 5 “K’s” are an integral part of Sikhs and their dress and necessary to wear all the time otherwise if they are removed from the body, it is disgrace to the commitment of baptized Sikhs. It is now a worrisome that Sikhs have to face all this, which should be taken care of at the time of recruitment in the Army, said Darshan Singh Sherkhan.
