Police to impound vehicles plying in curfew hours
Mohali, April 16, 2021:
Mohali Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan ordered on Friday that Police officials will impound cars plying in curfew hours and ensure enforcement of curfew at strict 9 pm, including shutting down of liquor vends. He said the joint teams of civil and police officers would keep a tab on Home Isolation and Geo-fencing Breaches by COVID patients.
Mohali SP (city) Harvinder Singh Virk said, “The police will impound the vehicles of the persons, roaming around without any reason. Also, the person can be booked under Section 188 of the IPC. However, the vehicles going for emergency will not be impounded.”
On Friday afternoon, teams of Mohali administration including DC, SSP, SP (city), DSP (city 1) and health workers visited the busy market of Phase 3B2 and spread the awareness among residents in view of rising cases of COVID-19. “The team led by Mohai DC and SSP conducted surprise checks at various educational institutes and shops. The residents and shopkeepers were asked to follow proper guidelines of COVID and to get them vaccinated at the earliest,” said SP (city).
He informed that around 50 RT-PCR samples of random persons were taken by the health workers in this regard.
