PO in several criminal cases held with illegal weapon in Mohali
Mohali, April 17, 2021:
The Crime Investigation Agency of Mohali police arrested a history sheeter and a proclaimed offender in several cases for possessing a .32 revolver along with four live cartridges from Kharar.
The accused has been identified as Hardil Singh, a resident of Sirsa in Haryana. Hardil was wanted in several high-profile cases of Punjab and was declared PO by the courts. He was staying in his hideout in Zirakpur here, said the police.
Mohali SSP Satinder Singh informed that Hardil Singh was nabbed by the cops on Badala T-point on Landran-Kharar road when he was driving his Hyundai i20. On suspicion, the cops searched his vehicle and recovered a .32 revolver along with four live cartridges.
During his interrogation, it was discovered that the accused is a close aid of hardcore gangster Naveen Kumar of Panipat, who had committed murder in Ambala courts. The courts have also issued arrest warrants against Hardil in several cases. It was also disclosed that the accused used to supply weapons to many of his contacts, who will also be arrested soon, said the SSP.
A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 25-54-59 of the Arms Act at the City Kharar police station.
The accused was sent to two-day police remand by the court on Saturday.
