Ferozepur Police cracks ‘man kills cousin’ case, 5 arrested
Ferozepur, April 18, 2021: The Ferozepur police and CIA team, got success in cracking the ‘man kills cousin over land dispute’ case, in such a short time, with the arrest of two accused on Thursday and three on Sunday, with the recovery of weapons and vehicles used in the firing incident.
In the firing incident over a land dispute of only 7 kanals at village Panje Ke Uttar in which Mohinder Singh was killed and his cousin Gurcharan Singh was seriously injured.
For the last three years, a family dispute was going over the 7 kanals land and the victim's uncle was in the look to grab the land and attempting murderous attacks. A case was registered against 9 persons – Gurdev Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Satnam Singh, Gruwinder Singh, Parmjit Singh, Budh Parkash, Manjit Singh, and Bagicha Singh.
The victim’s family had sit on dharna refusing the cremation of Mohinder Singh till the arrest of all accused. However, on assurance from the police to arrest the accused, the dharna was lifted.
SSP Bhagirath Singh Meena said, the police teams working day and night proactively investigated the matter collectively on a technical and scientific basis, got success in arresting the accused on the same day namely Bagicha Singh and Paramjit Singh on Thursday and the remaining three accused – Gurdev Singh, Sukhwinder Singh Jaswinder Singh from the brick kiln of Khai Pheme Ki and also recovered the motorcycle, 12 double barrel gun with 9 live cartridges, 22 bore revolver with 26 live cartridges and 2 motorcycles without numbers, used at the time of the incident. The accused are already facing six criminal cases.
He said, the police had been working seriously from day one and there was no delay on our part. However, further investigations are still on and the remaining accused in the case will also be arrested shortly.
