Kunwar Vijay Partap gearing up to join AAP: Bikram Majithia
Majitha, April 19, 2021:
Former minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Monday said that IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh was now gearing up to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and this was the reason why the latter was further politicizing the Kotkapura firing case despite the fact that the high court had rejected his findings and asked the government to disassociate him from the probe.
The SAD leader was answering a query at a press briefing held after the election of office bearers of the Majitha Nagar Council.
Bikram Majithia said the IG had given a go by to all service rules by disrespecting the order of the high court and indulged in blatant politics after the political vendetta launched by him against the SAD was exposed by the court. “The IG was challenged by a police functionary and not by the SAD in the court. Earlier also the head of the SIT – ADGP Prabodh Kumar and other three members including IG Arun Pal Singh had disassociated with Kunwar Vijay’s findings in writing and refused to become party to politicization of the case”.
Asking chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh to explain if Kunwar Vijay Partap alone was capable to leading the probe into the Kotkapura firing case, Majithia said “It is clear that the government favoured this police officer because he was a willing tool in the hands of the Congress party and was part of the conspiracy to weaken the SAD, religious institutions and Sikh leadership”. The SAD leader said this was also clear from the meeting held by Pradesh Congress President Sunil Jakhar with the DGP and other senior officers after the high court dismantled the SIT and rejected its findings. “The Congress party continues to steer the case with the intention of implicating the SAD and its senior leadership in the case”, he added.
Majithia also asserted that the health system had collapsed completely in the State with the mortality rate of the State becoming the highest in the country. “People are not getting beds. If they get beds there are no ventilators. Similarly forget Remdesivir, even Dolo tablets are unavailable”. He said all this was the result of utter callousness of the chief minister who had failed to react in time to the enormity of the problem. “The SAD raised this issue in the Vidhan Sabha also and highlighted the government’s lack of preparedness to fight the pandemic. We highlighted how Health minister Balbir Sidhu had also chosen to get treatment in a private hospital as well as exploitation of people at the hands of Amandeep hospital and even scams in the name of Covid by Tuli laboratory of Amritsar. Recently we have also seen how the economy of the State has also been devastated by the knee jerk reactions of the government including night and weekend curfew”.
