Charik / Moga, April 19, 2021: With the announcement of direct payment to farmers for the sale of crops had put the relationship between Arhtiyas and Farmers to a halt. Union Government wanted to make payment directly to the farmers instead of through intermediaries (Arhtiyas). But the Punjab government resolved this complex issue wisely.
While interacting in Dana Mandi of his village today, Mr Iqbal Singh, Arhtiya and farmer of village Charik said that the central government had tried to create a rift between the farmers and the Arhtiyas with the unscrupulous order to pay the crop directly to the farmers which were not successful. But the Punjab government understood the relationship between the farmers and the Arhtiyas of the state very well and wisely saved this nail-biting relationship from breaking. Which is highly appreciated by the Arhtiyas and farmers of Punjab.
Mr Iqbal Singh said that due to cooperation the procurement of crops in the grain mandis of district Moga was going on very smoothly. Every facility related to procurement is available. In the mandis, neither the farmer nor any Arhtiyas are facing any problem. He said that the procurement, lifting and payment of procured crop were going on simultaneously. With the direct payment to the farmer and the Arhtiyas getting their due. The situation is now favourable for both.
He said that he and all the Arhtiyas were thankful to the Punjab Government. Farmer Gursewak Singh who was also present on the occasion said that due to the cooperation of the Punjab government, they were easily able to sell the crop. He assured that no stone would be left unturned in properly conducting the procurement of wheat.
