JOB FAIRS PROVED TO BE A BOON FOR UNEMPLOYMENT YOUTH: DEPUTY COMMISSIONER
HOSHIARPUR, APRIL 19, 2021: Under Punjab Government’s ambitious Ghar Ghar Rozgar & Karobar Mission, as many as 207 youngsters today got on the spot placement in different companies during a one-day Rozgar Mela held here at local Multi Skill Development Centre.
Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait while giving information regarding the job fairs conducted across the district said that these endeavours organised under series of 7th Mega Job fairs’ were being proven a boon for unemployed youngsters, who had been selected by the renowned companies at one location. The Deputy Commissioner along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Harbir Singh also went to the site of job fair, where she also interacted with the aspirants, who got placed as per their educational and technical qualifications. She said that the companies namely luminous, havells, Agile Herbal, Big Bazaar, Bajaj Electronics, Okaya International etc selected the candidates.
Appreciating the team of District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, the Deputy Commissioner said that the concerted efforts of the team were giving impetus to employment to unemployed youth, which could be further accelerated in the time to come. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion District Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Officer Gurmel Singh, Placement Officer Mangesh Sood, Career Counsellor Aditya Rana etc.
