Bhadargarh village achieves 100% COVID vaccination; district administered nearly 2 lakh jabs: Mohali DC
Mohali, April 23, 2021:
Mohali administration claimed on Friday that the district has been successful in achieving 100% COVID vaccination of all the 45 plus residents of Bhadargarh village falling in Derabassi subdivision.
Sharing the information, Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan informed that administration has been trying to facilitate public to the best possible extent for vaccination. “We are vaccinating people through as many as 58 government and 40 private health institutions across the district. Besides, daily special outreach camps are being organized to reach various far flung pockets of the district.” Special vaccination teams are also being sent to desiring Resident Welfare Associations, Market Associations and industrial units. “As of now vaccination is apparently the most effective means to safeguard against COVID-19 or at least reduce the impact of the virus if it infects the vaccinated person; so we are trying our best to vaccinate maximum people,” said Dayalan.
“I sincerely appreciate the efforts of Harvinder Kaur, Sarpanch of Gram Panchyat Bahadargarh, Rishab Garg, the Nodal Officer for vaccination of the said village, Kuldeep Bawa SDM Dera Bassi and the entire vaccination team for their efforts,” said Deputy Commissioner and added that we will try to replicate the feat in other villages as well. The District Administration will forward the name of the village to the State Government for special incentive and grants as a reward for their accomplishment, he informed.
Pertinently, with 1,98,369 vaccinations per million, Mohali stands second in the state in vaccination per million population.
