Mohali launches helpline number for providing support to Home Isolated people
Mohali, April 28, 2021:
Due to the increasing number of COVID19 cases, the district administration on Tuesday launched a dedicated helpline number –0172-23509784/0172-23509783 for providing counselling and psychological support for people in isolation and quarantine at home who might be facing emotional challenges like stress and anxiety, informed Ashika Jain ADC (G).
The helpline will facilitate people to share their emotions, concerns and clarify queries openly without fear and quell anxiety. It is manned by team of 8 volunteer doctors (psychiatrists and psychologists) who will work the phone lines from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on all days of the week.
Pertinently, there are 8235 active patients in the district, out of which 8051 are under home isolation.
In order to facilitate people to share their emotions’ concerns and clarify queries openly without fear and quell anxiety, the panel of doctors volunteering includes Dr. BK Waraich, Consultant Psychiatrist Fortis Hospital Mohali, Dr Harjeet Singh, Dr Davinder Pal Singh, Dr. Satinder Kaur Cheema, Dr Pranay Gulati, Dr Manisha Gopal (all being MD Psychiatry), Dr Komaldeep Kaur and Dr Sunil Sharma both having Master’s Degree in Psychology.
