UT health dept checks fire arrangements in hospital
Chandigarh, May 1, 2021:
Considering incidents of fire in some of the hospitals in parts of the country especially due to sudden increase in consumption of oxygen, Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, V.P. Singh Badnore has directed to be extra careful about the fire issues.
On Saturday, all the fire hydrants at Sector 48 Hospital were tested. A Mock Drill of fire sensing was also carried out. All the fire extinguishers have been checked, refilled and re-validated.
Similarly, during last week, all the fire hydrants at GMCH-32 were tested. A Mock Drill of fire sensing was also carried out. All the fire extinguishers have been checked, refilled and re-validated.
All the medical and para-medical staff has also been sensitized to ensure that:
All the fire-exits should remain clear all the time and should not be blocked by the idle stretchers/trolleys.
All the oxygen points to be got checked from some technician to ensure there is no leakage and are properly closed after use.
