Chandigarh sees highest single-day deaths – 14 with 817 new COVID cases
Chandigarh, May 5, 2021:
Chandigarh reported 817 new COVID-19 positive cases on Wednesday. 14 deaths due to COVID were also reported in the last 24 hours, which is highest in a day so far. Notably, the city witnessed 86 deaths due to COVID in the last eight days.
As per the information released by the health department, UT Chandigarh, the total number of active cases in Chandigarh stands at 8,363.
In the last 24 hours, the department has tested 3,712 samples. As per the figure, 532 deaths have been reported in Chandigarh due to COVID-19 to date.
Likewise, the total number of patients who have tested positive to date stands at 46,793.
