NHM employees continue boycott of only Covid-19 duties
Ferozepur, May 7, 20201: The boycott for Covid-19 duties by National Health Mission employees (Rural Pharmacy Officers) continued in Ferozepur, who are protesting for their demand of regularization of services. However, they are attending to other duties in the dispanseries.
Harjinder Singh, District President and Sukhdev Raj, Senior Vice President and Joginder General Secretary said, the proposal of the government for 15 percent yearly increase in wages and 50 percent reservation in jobs in a meeting on May 5 is not acceptable to us. This formula will not benefit the employees at the lower cadre getting Rs.10,000 and it will benefit only to the upper cadre staff.
We demand pay protection and regularization of sanctioned and non-sanctioned working employees or regular pay scale may be given, they added.
The protesters further stated that our protest will continue for an indefinite period till such time the regular notification is issued. In the event of no decision, we all will resign.
Meantime, MPH Workers Union Punjab and Para-Medial Health Employees Union have extended support to NHM employees and giving a warning to the government, Ram Parshad and Sudhir Alexender said in case no decision is taken by the government, we will be compelled to join NHM employees in their struggle over demands.
