Ropar : DC orders strict action against Pvt Health Centres over charging for RT-PCR tests

The district Administration would take strict action under the provisions of Indian Penal Code and Diaster Management Act to book all the erring private health centres and testing labs, who are charging more than the prescribed rate for the RT- PCR test.
In a press communique released here today Sonali Giri, Deputy Commissioner said that she has taken serious cognizance of the reports pouring in from different quarters that some private health entities have been charging more than the prescribed rate for the RT- PCR test, which has been capped at Rs. 450 for RT-PCR and Rs.300 for RAT testing.
Mrs. Sonali Giri, Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar issued a strict warning for all such erring private health centres , testing labs to comply with the Punjab Government instructions otherwise they have to face the music.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab Government vide its orders issued on April 19 had cut down the rates for RT-PCR and Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) by private labs to Rs 450 and Rs 300 respectively (with additional charges for home collection of the samples), in a bid to promote increased testing.
