Mohali DC sends proposal to govt to open shops under odd-even pattern & opening of private offices with 33% staff
Mohali, May 7, 2021:
During a meeting with the shopkeepers and traders of the district at the District Administrative Complex here to resolve the problems faced by the shopkeepers and traders in view of the situation occurred due to Corona, Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan disclosed that in the view of the situation a proposal would be sent to the government to open the shops in the district under odd-even pattern for six days in a week.
The proposal would also include the point that private offices in the district could be opened with 33 per cent staff. However, the shops regarding essential commodities will continue to open as per the instructions issued earlier.
Deputy Commissioner Dayalan said that all the restrictions imposed by the government have been imposed to save the people from this epidemic. The district administration is committed to solve all the problems of the shopkeepers and traders and keeping in view the demand of the shopkeepers and traders for reopening the shops, the above proposal is being sent to the government.
Dayalan said that the district administration was in dire need of cooperation of shopkeepers and traders in the war against Corona. Therefore, shopkeepers and traders should ensure that on the one hand they follow all the instructions issued by the government regarding corona and on the other hand they must vaccinate themselves, their families and their staff also.
He further said that wherever shopkeepers and traders have to set up vaccination or testing camps, the district administration will set up camps there. He said testing is an important weapon in the war against Corona. In view of this, testing kits will also be provided to shopkeepers and traders so that they can do testing on regular basis.
In addition, special measures are being taken for vaccination and testing of vendors. The Deputy Commissioner said that after a week the situation would be reviewed and the next decision would be taken thereafter.
During this SSP Satinder Singh said that the situation is critical due to Corona. Therefore, every citizen should follow the instructions issued by the government and co-operate with the government under Mission Fateh and the rules should not be violated at all.
On this occasion traders and shopkeepers assured all possible cooperation to the district administration.
