UT admn asks inspectors to keep vigil eye on black-marketing & exorbitant pricing of commodities
Chandigarh, May 10, 2021:
Due to sudden spike in the number of cases regarding COVID, concerns have been raised about the availability of Essential Commodities to the common man at fair prices.
Chandigarh administration has directed all the area Inspector Food and Supplies as well as Inspector Legal Metrology to maintain vigil in their respective areas and start checking drives to monitor the issues relating to charging over and above MRP, black marketing, hoarding, exorbitant pricing etc. An ‘Action Taken Report’ has to be submitted in the office, ordered the administration.
To facilitate general public in case of any information/complaint, the departmental Consumer Helpline No. 1800-180-2079 is already activated.
