Mohali: Woman booked for attacking District Administrative Complex with stones

Sohana police booked a woman on Wednesday who forcefully entered one of the offices in District Administrative Complex (DAC) in Sector 76 here and started attacking the staff present there.
As per the police, the accused, Reshma, a resident of Pabhat village near Zirakpur, arrived inside DAC at around 12 pm. On reaching the office of District Child Protection Officer, Reshma started pelting stones on the gate and towards the women employees sitting there. She completely broke the main gate of the office, made of glass, and also damaged a computer and furniture items placed inside the office. The accused also hurled abuses on the staff.
Navpreet Kaur, District Child Protection Officer, informed the police that one of her colleagues also got injured when Reshma was creating ruckus inside her office. She also raised questions on the security system, asking the possibility of such an incident where any random woman could enter the secure DAC building carrying such big stones. She added that all the female staff, present inside the office, somehow managed to save them from the violent attack.
As per the information, the accused is mentally unstable and the the department of child protection was taking care of her children untill last year. The woman often used to visit the office of district child protection and have had heated arguments with the staff members in the past.
Inspector Bhagwant Singh, SHO of Sohana police station said, “We have registered a case against the woman under Sections 506, 332, 353, 186, 292 and 427 of the IPC. Our team raided her house in Pabhat, but she was not found there. The investigation has started and we will nab her soon.”
The SHO added that the accused entered the complex after hiding the stones inside her clothes. The medical examination of the injured woman was conducted. She has minor injuries.
