Haryana Govt should provide free treatment to journos & kin hit by COVID-19: State's Journalists body
Haryana, May 14, 2021: Amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases, Haryana Government Pension Journalists Association has demanded the state government provide free treatment to journalists and their families who are affected by COVID-19.
Senior journalist and convener of Haryana Government Pension Journalists Association, BK Diwakar said that the state government should declare the facility for the media persons same in lines of Madhya Pradesh Governmental who announced to bear the cost of treatment of Coronavirus of journalists and their families working in the state, whether the journalist is accrediting or not.
"Madhya Pradesh government has announced to assist any member of the family of people working in print, electronic, digital media, In addition to those working in the editorial department and on the desk, the journalist cameraman photographer also falls in the grip of Corona. MP government will assist the media persons under Journalist Welfare Scheme," Diwakar said.
The Union demanded the state government implement such assistance with immediate effect. It is to be mentioned that a fortnight ago, State Health Minister Anil Vij has media persons in the state as frontline warriors in COVID-19 pandemic.
