Jaipal Bhullar Encounter case: Family demands re-postmortem before cremation
Ferozepur, June 13, 2021: In a new turn, the family members of Jaipal Bhullar have approached the Deputy Commissioner for post-mortem before cremation as they have alleged that before encounter he ws beaten and tortured.
Jaipal was a hammer-thrower and a budding talent at Speed Fund Academy, a Punjab government sports training centre in Ludhiana.
Gangster Jaipal Bhullar, Jassi Kharar, wanted for killing the CIA ASI Bhagwant Singh and Dalwinderjit Singh Jagraon Grain Market on May 15, were killed in encounter in Kolkota, in a joint operation by Punjab Police, West Bengal Police and central security agencies on Wednesday morning.
Carrying an award of Rs 10 lakh, the top most-wanted gangster, Jaipal Singh Bhullar alias Manjit Singh, was a son of a retired Assistant Sub-Inspector from Punjab Police. He was wanted in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh for over 40 cases related to murder, extortion, kidnapping, robbery and smuggling.
He had succeeded in evading arrest for five years at least. Punjab Police officials reached after two of his close aides were recently arrested from Madhya Pradesh, who were wanted in the murder case of two ASIs.
The body of Jaipal Bhullar gangster was brought to Ferozepur by his family members from Kolkata on Saturday evening and was to be cremated on Sunday afternoon. But at the time of performing ritual of bath before cremation, Jaipal’s father Bhupinder Singh Bhullar retired Inspector said many bones of his body were broken and there were also scars on his body.
Leveling charges of torture on Jail Bhullar by Punjab Police and West Bengal ATM, he said, we have demanded from the administration re-postmortem of Jaipal’s body adding that his body will be cremated till post-mortem is done again.
A decision to this effect was yet to be taken by the administration till filing of this report.
