Haryawal Lehar Tarn Taran kicks off tree plantation drive in city
Tarn Taran, June 16, 2021: The nations who do not work towards conservation of their natural resources including water and land, their future generations will eventually have to pay the price for it, said Kulwant Singh IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Tarn Taran at the inaugural ceremony of the tree plantation drive started by NGO Haryawal Lehar Tarn Taran.
Haryawal Lehar Tarn Taran, a city-based NGO in association with Baba Jagtar Singh, Kar Seva Tarn Taran has organized a plantation drive across the city.
The NGO members expressed that they are worried about the constant felling of trees. In the past two years, Haryawal Lehar Tarn Taran has planted almost 10,000 plants and trees across the city.
"Ornamental and fruit trees would be planted on the roads leading to Shri Darbar Sahib and on the banks of Rohi, which would be fully managed and supervised by the members of Haryawal Lehar Tarn Taran," said Baba Jagat Singh, Karseva on the ocassion.
Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included SSP Mr. Dharuman H Nimbale, Amanpreet Singh Assistant Commissioner General, Rajneesh Arora (PCS) SDM Tarn Taran, Baba Seva Singh, Karseva Khadur Sahib, Baba Mahinder Singh Ji Karseva Tarn Taran, Dharwinder Singh Manager Darbar Sahib Tarn Taran, S. Nirmal Singh Deputy Manager, Baba Joga Singh Karseva were present. Giani Joga Singh Granthi Shri Darbar Sahib offered the inaugural prayer during the inauguration ceremony.
Apart from the President of Haryawal Lehar Tarn Taran Tejinderpal Singh, Bhupinder Singh Vice President, Jaspal Singh, Sukhjinderpal Singh, Ramesh Kumar, GursharanJeet Singh, Kawaljeet Singh, Arshpreet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Harjit Singh Fauji, Bhushan Kumar Virendra Singh Dhami, Jagteshwarpal Singh, Balwinder Singh besides representatives of religious and social organizations and societies of the city were present on this occasion.
At this time the role of stage secretary was played by Kulwinder Singh Lovely. All the dignitaries who visited the occasion were honored with bouquets and captions by the members of Haryawal Lehar Tarn Taran.
