Moga’s Upinderjit Kaur Brar tops PCS
Moga, June 18, 2021: Moga girl Upinderjit Kaur Brar has secured the top position in the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) Examination, the results of which were declared on Friday. Upinderjit Kaur scored 898.15 marks.
A resident of Smalsar village of Bagha Purana segment, Upinderjit Kaur a single child. Both her parents, Swaran Singh Brar and Baljit Kaur are government teachers.
While speaking to Babushahi, a 24-year-old topper said that becoming a Civil Service Officer was always her dream.
“I always want to do something for the society and holding a position where I can genuinely make some difference is what I had always aimed for,” said Upinderjit Kaur sharing that she is the first person in her family and even in her distant relatives who will join civil services.
Upinderjit said that it was also her father's dream to see her as Civil Service Officer but this is not the first time, she has made her parents proud.
Kaur who did her schooling at Sant Mihan Singh Rajapeer Senior Secondary School scored 91 percent in class 10 and 90 percent in class 12.
“I completed my class 12 with my core subjects being Science as I have always been interested in Science but my goal has always been to become a Civil Service Officer,” she said.
Upinderjit Kaur has done B.Sc and MSc honors in Zoology.
On the preparation during the pandemic, she said that while initially, she took coaching, she spent the majority of the pandemic period doing self-study.
“Even during this difficult time, I tried to remain focus on my goal and diligently prepared for the exams. My hard work has paid off and I’m really happy about it. I want to say all the girls to never give up on their dreams and push harder to achieve their goals,” she added.
