Moga, June 19, 2021: PCMS Association Punjab in its emergency meeting held today rejected the 6th Pay commission report proposed by the Punjab government, terming it anti employee and anti-doctors, said Dr Gagandeep Singh President PCMSA,.
The Govt is giving false claims about increasing the salary substantially but the fact is that by decreasing NPA and delinking it from basic pay, there is either a decrease or negligible increase in pay in some cases. Pay commission is supposed to look into inflation and its effect on employees and propose appropriate measures to compensate for that but it has failed to look into the interests of Govt doctors.
This decision will have an adverse effect on pensionary benefits with 20% decrease in pension. This will adversely affect the Govt health services as many doctors will take premature retirement and new doctors will be reluctant to join as a result of which poor people will suffer.
Doctors are working hard in the covid times and many have been infected and there is deep anguish in the cadre as instead of being rewarded they have been betrayed.
The word CORONA WARRIOR has been a hollow slogan.Dr Gagandeep Singh President PCMSA, Dr Gagandeep Shergill S.Vice President,Dr Manohar Singh Gen Sec said that the Association has decided to fight it out to get their legitimate rights .
The Association will write an open letter to CM Punjab regarding this . State leadership will be donating blood at Civil Hospital Mohali on Monday and will be compelled to shut down services on Wednesday if the govt does not reconsider its decision.
