Now, Navjot Sidhu suggests framing new law to terminate Power Purchase Agreements
Chandigarh, July 4, 2021: Former Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu after attacking Captain Amarinder Singh on Bargari Sacrilege, Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan firing cases , has fully shifted his focus on 'Power Politics'.
In his fresh tweet, apart from repeating his view on framing a new law in Vidhan Sabha for terminating Power Purchase Agreements signed during SAD led Government’s tenure , he mentioned other steps to be taken by the state governement to tackle power related issues.
Sidhu said, “Let us start with Congress High Command’s Pro-People 18 Point Agenda and get rid of the faulty un-negotiable Badal-signed Power Purchase Agreements through “New Legislation in Punjab Vidhan Sabha” fixing rates as per National Power Exchange with No fixed charges !

Punjab already provides 9000 Crore Subsidy but we must do more for Domestic & Industrial consumer giving power at Rs 3-5 per unit instead of surcharge inflated Rs 10-12 per unit, along 24-hour supply with No Power-Cuts & Free Power (Upto 300 Units).. It is definitely achievable.”
Interestingly people reacted sharply to his tweets and some persons asked Sidhu to pay his Rs. 8 lakh power bills whereas some others said that why his high command and he himself was silent all these years. One user also said that he could have bring reforms as power minister but he chose to keep mum all these years.
