Retired IAS/ Army officers' Forum Comes in Support of the Kisan Parliament, ready for open debate on Agri Acts
Chandigarh, July 23, 2021 - The Kirti Kisan Forum consisting of retired IAS, IPS and senior Army Officers had a meeting today and came out strongly in favour of the ongoing Farmers’ agitation, now centered at Jantar Mantar New Delhi. After appreciating the peaceful and unique struggle of the farmers agitating for their rights, the Forum challenged the supporters of the three farm bills to debate the pros and cons of the new legislation on any platform in the presence of the media.
By a show of hands, the Forum decided to join the Farmers Sansad at Jantar Mantar for a day. The Forum appreciated the role of the farmers in unifying the entire nation and almost the entire political class in the interest of the farmers and labourers.
The Forum paid tribute to the hundreds of farmers who have laid down their lives in this peaceful protest for their in alienable rights. Rich tributes were also paid to S. Jugraj Singh Gill, former Chairman of the Mandi Board who was a catalyst in organizing support to the farmers cause when the agitation was in its nascent phase.
The meeting was co chaired by Mr Boparai, and Mr RI Singh (both are retied IAS officers) and was attended by Mr MPS Aulakh (retired DGP, Punjab), Mr GPS Sahi, Brig Harwant Singh, Brig Inder Mohan Singh, and Messers DS Bains, Kulbir Sidhu, Harkesh Sidhu, GK Singh and Iqbal Singh Sidhu.
