Principal Secretary, Department of Housing & Urban Development to submit the report in a fortnight
Strict notice taken of letter written to MP Manish Tewari
Mohali, August 5, 2021:
Member Lok Sabha from Anandpur Sahib and former Union Minister Manish Tewari raised the issue of non-provision of facilities to the people as promised by the developers in Mohali, Kharar, Kurali and New Chandigarh and wrote a letter to the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh. Taking a serious notice of the matter, the CM has handed over the investigation of the matter to the Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department.
Replying to a letter written by the Member Parliament, the Chief Minister said “I have before me your letter of the 14th July 2021 bringing to my notice that the Real Estate Developers in Mohali, Kharar, Kurali and New Chandigarh have not fulfilled their obligations after selling plots and flats to people who have invested their hard earned savings.
I have directed the Principal Secretary in the Department of Housing & Urban Development to look into the matter and submit a report in a fortnight where after I would like to review it at my level. "
It may be recollected that the locals had told about the problems that they were facing at the hands of real estate developers including lack of basic amenities in a meeting with Member Parliament, Manish Tewari which were vociferously raised at various platforms by the MP and were escalated by him to the Chief Minister Punjab.
