UK based Afghan Sikhs thank Indian Government for safe passage to Swaroops of Guru Granth Sahib
London, August 27, 2021: Afghan Sikhs have thanked Indian Government for safely evacuating three pawan saroops of Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan.
In a letter written to Gaitri Issar Kumar High Commission of India, Gurmeet Singh (Chair Trustee) Gurudwara Guru Nanak DarbarAfghan Ekta Cultural Religious Community Centre said that on behalf of Afghan Ekta Cultural Religious Community Centre representing the Afghan Sikh community in the United Kingdom, we would like to offer our wholehearted gratitude to the Indian government in assisting the safe passage of three Swaroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and members of the Afghan Sikh and Hindu community from Afgahnistan.
He said that this gesture from the Indian Government in these difficult times is greatly appreciated by their community. The Afghan Sikhs and Hindus have always maintained a positive and cordial relationship with the Indian High Commission and will continue to keep the same bond.
He said that they were grateful for the assistance and support provided by the Indian Government to our community members in Afghanistan and wish to convey this message through the High Commissioner of India in London.
