Health Minister dedicates Mai Daultan Maternal and Child Hospital at Moga
AYUSH Hospital will also be commissioned in two months - Balbir Singh Sidhu

Moga, September 15, 2021: Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu inaugurated the Mai Daultan Maternal and Child Hospital at Moga today.
During the brief but impressive function, Sidhu said that Mai Daulatan Maternity and Child Hospital with a capacity of 50 beds have been constructed for Rs. 5.48 crore. Hospital is equipped with all kinds of facilities. 29 such hospitals have been completed across the state while construction work of 8 hospitals is in progress.
7 more hospitals will also be commissioned this year. He said that Health Wellness Centers were being set up at various places to provide quality health care facilities to the people of the state.
The number of these centers will be increased to 3,000 before March 31, 2022. So that people can get health facilities as close as possible. He said that he has recruited 13000 during his tenure as Minister. Recruitment of specialist doctors and health workers is still ongoing. 600 more doctors are being recruited soon.
He said that the Delhi model has failed compared to the health facilities available in Punjab. During the Covid 19, 5500 corona patients from other states were treated in Punjab, out of which 80 percent were from Delhi.
He claimed that no state including Delhi could imitate Punjab in terms of public facilities.
He appealed to the NHM employees that if there was any new recruitment now, they would be given priority in the permanent ones. He lauded the duty performed by government doctors and other staff during the pandemic and claimed that doctors of government hospitals were more specialized than private hospitals.
He said that AYUSH Hospital under construction at Moga would be commissioned in the next two months. Earlier, Dr. Harjot Kamal, MLA welcomed Sidhu and apprised him about the needs of the hospital and the constituency.
